Articles about credit cards
Just about everyone today has a small square of plastic in his or her wallet. Many people have multiple credit cards and use them all interchangeably. People used to only look for the lowest APR credit cards because that was all credit card companies had to offer. There was the odd airline miles card here and there, but for a lot of people that mattered little because they did not travel a great deal, if at all.
Now credit cards have evolved. Credit card companies offer dozens of different cards in order to best suit potential customers. In many ways, this new slew of choices is great for you because it gives you the chance to search credit cards in order to find that perfect card that will best suit your lifestyle. The only downside is that with all these choices, you may start to feel a little daunted by all the possibilities, especially if there is more than one card that seems to suit your needs. Will you want a rewards credit card? If so, what reward do you want? Are you looking for a 0 balance transfer card? Or maybe you are still searching for that lowest APR credit card. Before you start floundering in the world of credit cards online (as that will be your best bet to search for credit cards and comparing them), you should know what types are out there and which ones you will want to take a closer look at.

It will take a little time, but here’s how you can make sure your credit score gets you a good credit card:
Check your credit report and know your score. You can get a free credit report once a year from each of the three major credit reporting agencies, but you’ll have to pay a small fee to have your credit score included. It’s worth it.

Once you have graduated college, chances are you are going to have a great deal of money to pay off. Loans from the government or other organizations are going to want their money back now that you have used it to get through school. But that is not the only type of debt you may have.
If you owned a student credit card, or any other credit card for that matter, you may not have been paying complete attention to the amount of money you spent on that card (or multiple cards). By paying only the minimum, the balance will continue to go up, getting hit with the finance charges until you suddenly realize you have reached your limit or owe a lot more than you thought.

The Truth about Credit Card Bankruptcy
As much as everyone would like to avoid dealing with bankruptcy, the fact remains that bankruptcy is more common than many people would like to believe. Even for the everyday, average person, with too much credit card debt and not enough funds, bankruptcy may be their only option left. Without a watchful eye on one’s spending and other financial habits, bankruptcy can become a reality much quicker than expected. Anyone can go bankrupt; an individual, a business, the rich, the poor, anyone. Sometimes we may be surprised to hear that a company that seemed to be doing so well has filed for bankruptcy. Things may have looked good on the outside, but behind the corporation’s doors, not enough business was had and too many debts have built up, leaving them in the exact same pot as someone with too much credit card debt.

A creditor has a lot to consider before giving the green light to allow someone to have the use of a good credit card. There are three main areas a creditor will examine that have become known as the Three Cs of Credit. These three Cs are capacity, character, and collateral. Even if it looks as though you may have a guaranteed approval credit card, there will be a point in time that the creditor will be looking at these Three Cs of Credit (as well as your credit score and report). Different creditors are going to have different standards for their cards. Some might be more interested in some areas than in others, and others may have extremely high standards. If you fail to meet any of these, you will not be issued a card.

Bankruptcy is more than just a black strip on the Wheel of Fortune wheel and it can do a lot more than take your money from you. In fact, in some cases of bankruptcy, it allows you to keep what little money you have and keep creditors away from the rest. In other cases, it may take as much as your property from you. You should stay as far away from filing for bankruptcy as possible, as it leaves a nasty black mark on your credit history that can stay there for up to 10 years. However, it can also be quite helpful to know what types of bankruptcy are out there and what they can do in case you find yourself considering filing for bankruptcy.

If you have some kind of credit complaint, you should not sit on it. Instead, you need to do something in order to fix the problem. Filing a credit complaint is precisely the way to handle your problem, starting with your creditor or whichever bank happens to be involved with your complaint. They should be willing to listen to your complaint and handle it accordingly in order to rectify the problem. If they fail to do so, you can file a written complaint and submit it to higher authorities. These authorities would be the federal agencies that are in charge of laws regarding credit protection for consumers.

i received a 660 rewards card where all i have for a credit limit for the first 3 months is 300.00 and with all the fees i have $50available credit until i pay. Is this a good card to start me out with crappy credit that i have?
Answer:
Thank you for contacting us, Susan. Though this credit offer might seem not the most beneficial one (and this is true), it is a good start for you. Poor credit rating makes it difficult, impossible, better to say, to qualify for a deal with numerous benefits, no fees, low APR and other perks. So, Rewards 660 Visa is a good option. Though you have a low credit limit at the beginning, there is a chance that your credit line will be increased. In case you make your payments on time, do not default on them and avoid mxing out your card, your lender will, most probably, increase your credit limit in a few months. You know, in fact, far not every customer with low credit rating gets approved for an unsecured deal. You have qualified. Besides, you have a rewards deal, it is even better. So, you can take advantage of a credit card, instead of putting up with opportunities that secured credit cards can give you. But having a secured credit card is not bad either. I believe your credit card, if managed right, will help you improve your credit history and score.
